Versailles panels
Is a classical type of panel consisting of a basket weave pattern surrounded by a square slat of parquet. It is named after the Palace of Versailles, as it was originally designed in 1693 to replace all the marble floors there. Elegant and stylish wooden flooring was introduced to Louis XIV, and since then, Versailles parquet has become a symbol of royal taste.
This exceptional parquet design marked the beginning of classic parquet flooring and became a universal trend in Europe. Its simplicity and grandeur are reflected in many European palaces, where the principle of symmetry is combined with the laconic and solemn decoration of palace interiors.
Nowadays, many people appreciate the concept of Versailles panels, which can be seen in various interiors and projects worldwide, featuring either traditional or modern design. Versailles parquet comes in different variations depending on the design patterns, the natural character of the oak in various grades, and finishes, helping to create a timeless feeling of luxury and excellence.
